Wow, I went from posting like 18 times a day to not posting for a month… sorry. I know you’ve all been in Meg-withdrawal. I’ve been busy, lamenting my lost youth.
So, I’m back in Ontario… and you’d never know I left Alberta. Other than another attack on my life choices by my Uncle Tony, all I’ve seen is my storage space. I haven’t even gotten into the city to see my friends (of course, I haven’t heard from them, either) It’s not all bad though, I’ve been baking up a storm (and have gained weight to prove it) and have quit smoking. Yay. Living with parents who don’t know you smoke is an excellent way to quit – take it from me.
It appears that my brother has been visited and abducted by the body-snatchers. When he was looking for an apartment, I told my Mom that she should look at a specific website that I’d heard about, for an apartment for him. I guess she did, and she sent my brother a print out about one of the apartments she found online, and he ended up getting it. Here’s the body-snatching part: when my Dad and my brother called to wish me happy birthday, my brother got on the phone and thanked me for helping my Mom find the website which got him his apartment. Uhh… okay. So I said to him, “Who is this and what have you done with my brother?” He just laughed.
Now, I know that this doesn’t sound all that odd to most people, but those of you who’ve met my brother will understand why I think he’s been abducted by the body-snatchers! Honestly, the last time I spoke to him on the phone, all he did was grunt and it was like pulling teeth, getting him to say more than 10 words total. The fact that he voluntarily got on the phone to thank me for something I didn’t even really do… well suffice to say that it’s unusual. Then he actually stayed on the phone for like 15 minutes, telling me all about this new apartment of his! Since then, there have been a couple of more strange occurrences of voluntary communication from my brother. Each time, I can tell it’s the body-snatchers. I wonder what they did with my brother?
So, no job as of yet, but it’s not the best time to be looking – I don’t think anyone really hires this close to Christmas. But, my Dad’s accountant actually might have found something for me! Weird, eh? It’s almost the same job I had before, with the propane company, but this is with a company that services warehouse doors. I’m going for an interview on Monday evening… wish me luck!
I also might be getting a new car – for $500! I KNOW! Apparently, a woman that has her car sprayed by my Dad every year is getting a new car, and needs to get rid of the current one. I guess she asked what she could get for the car, for parts, and they only offered her $500, so she sold it for that to my father! YAY! I can’t wait to have a car again… I miss my Dolly so much! This one is a bit newer though, and a VW (I LOVE the VWs). It’s a 1992 4-door Golf. Can’t WAIT to get it all insured and get back on the road! ![]()
